Chocolate Mousse

This luxurious dessert is packed full of protein from the tofu and the agave syrup releases it's sugars steadily, providing a slow release of energy. Cocoa powder is a great source of iron, which is essential for making red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body – a good reason to indulge in this chocolate treat!

Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free Option


1 pack of Blue Dragon silken tofu (349g)*
3 tbsp cocoa powder *
5 tbsp agave syrup *
2 tsp vanilla extract *


Place all ingredients in a food blender and process until completely mixed, for 1 - 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the blender as necessary so that it is well mixed. Taste, and add more agave syrup as necessary. Pour the mousse into a container and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until chilled before serving.

Variation 1:
Add 1 tsp of your favourite extract (orange, peppermint *, almond *, etc), and use only 1 tsp vanilla extract rather than 2 tsp. Personally I recommend adding orange extract for a chocolate-orange mousse!

Variation 2:
Substitute the cocoa powder with carob powder * for a carob mousse.
